Agriculture and Farmland Protection Board
Description:
It is the mission of the Agricultural and Farmland Protection
Board to foster the improvement and advancement of agriculture as
an industry, vocation and social institution in St. Lawrence
County. Agriculture contributes to a vibrant economy, maintains
open
space, protects the environment, enhances the quality of life,
and is fundamentally important to the advancement of the county
and all of its residents.
St. Lawrence County Board of Legislators
Description:
The 15 member Board of Legislators oversees all aspects of County government.
Members are elected to four year terms. While members represent roughly equal
numbers of residents, the districts vary greatly in geographical size.
Environmental Management Council
Description:
The St. Lawrence County EMC was established by the County's governing body in 1971. The 16 members serve two-year terms. The Legislature appoints members from among those interested in environmental education, environmental advocacy, and maintaining the quality of the county's environment.
