St. Lawrence County Integrated Agriculture Task Force to Hold First Meeting - 3 PM Feb. 7 County Board Room
The St. Lawrence County Integrated Agriculture Task Force, formed in the wake of Bion's request for support, will hold its first meeting. The meeting will be Thursday, Feb. 7 at 3 PM in the Board of Legislators Board Room in Canton. No agenda for the meeting has been announced. American Public Health Association Moratorium on New Concentrated Animal Feed Operations
The American Public Health Association (APHA) has issued a resolution urging federal, state, and local governments to impose a precautionary moratorium on all new Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) - also known as factory farms - and to initiate and support further research on the health impacts of air and water pollution from such operations.
